300 MW Tata Solar Plant in Dholera, Gujarat
Tata Power Renewables Energy Ltd (TPREL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, commissioned a 300 MW solar photovoltaic plant within the Dholera Solar Park in April 2022 . Developed between March 2020 and 2022, it holds the distinction of being India’s largest single‑axis solar tracker system . Spread over 1,320 acres, the project is divided into six plots of roughly 220 acres each. It deploys 873,012 monocrystalline PV modules, mounted on single-axis trackers that follow the sun from east to west, maximizing generation efficiency . The plant produces approximately 774 million units (MUs) per year, sufficient to power tens of thousands of homes annually
A key environmental benefit: the facility avoids over 704,340 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, supporting India’s transition to cleaner energy.
