As Tata Electronics Pvt. Ltd. (TEPL) begins construction of its first semiconductor fabrication unit in Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) — located just 110 km from Ahmedabad — the Gujarat Government has taken a proactive step to support its workforce by allotting 10 acres of land to the Tata Group for residential development.

According to Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary, Science and Technology Department, Government of Gujarat: “The government has provided 10 acres to the Tata Group to build a housing complex. In the first phase, they plan to construct over 500 apartments for their employees and workers.”

This is a significant move toward establishing essential social infrastructure in Dholera SIR, a greenfield smart city project with a vision to blend futuristic industry, sustainability, and comfortable living.

In addition to Tata’s residential plan, Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd (DICDL) has successfully auctioned plots to private developers for building an additional 1,000 service apartments.
